Rehabilitation Technology Services consist of consulting, design and advocacy on behalf of persons with disabilities. Services include but are not limited to, long term planning for rehabilitation technology needs; for example the type of appliances such as manual and power wheelchairs, batteries, maintenance, cushions and customized seating and positioning.
Personal transportation or access to public transportation options is another important need when considering the long term needs and care of a person with a disability. A disabled person many times needs a home designed and built specifically with their special needs in mind; accessible entries and exits, bathroom and kitchen and custom designed furniture to accommodate the individuals’ wants and needs.
Dr. Ward consults with lawyers, third party payers, risk management, insurance companies, and advocacy organizations on how to provide increased independence, rehabilitation and assistive technology for clients.
